In 2004 the small Calgary Renewable Energy Meetup group was created under the leadership of Ken Hogg. Since then, the group has grown both in number and scope.
Members have focused their personal and professional dialogue on topics such as energy conservation and efficiency, sustainable transportation, carbon offsets, renewable energy and storage policies, green electrolytic hydrogen, and projects in Alberta, Canada and international markets.
The need to encourage the discussion of renewable energy to a larger audience while providing an open platform for leaders led to the formation of AREA (Alberta Renewable Energy Alliance) in 2011.
Members of the AREA Board are:
Richard Hall P.Eng.
Ken Hogg M.Eng.,P.Eng.
