Meeting Topic:

Balcony solar or plug and play solar systems – benefits and risks.

Join us at 11:00 AM Saturday March 21, 2026 at Boston Pizza Westbrook to discuss balcony solar systems.

Germany has seen a surge in over one million small (800 watt) solar photovoltaic systems by homeowners and renters.  These approved systems can be installed by homeowners themselves, and because of the lower costs can offer an inexpensive entry into solar power generation.  They avoid the soft costs of labour and permitting while encouraging personal control over carbon emissions from grid electricity.

We will be discussing risks in such systems and alternatives that could spawn an exponential growth in residential solar in Alberta’s carbon intensive grid.

We hope to share ideas with you on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
